YOURS Ministry
About
Youth Outreach Urban Resources and Services (YOURS) was founded and incorporated in March 2005 by Robert Goodrum to meet the needs of all youth, inclusive of those residing in the low income, public housing developments of Norfolk, Virginia. YOURS provides mentoring, tutoring, leadership development, spiritual awareness, and recreational activities through partnerships with all five local high schools, churches, and agencies. YOURS has expanded its programming to include surrounding Hampton Roads cities and globally to Nigeria.

The Youth Outreach Urban Resources and Services (YOURS) mission is “to give every teenager an opportunity to experience positive life outcomes through Christian based values and to nurture their faith within a multi-cultural peer group around their school and in their community.

founder
Robert Goodrum is a native of Annapolis, Maryland. He is a graduate of the U. S. Naval Academy with a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics. He retired as a Captain in 2004 from the Navy Reserves after 28 years of service. Robert holds a Master’s in Theology from Fuller Theological Seminary and a Master’s in Counseling from Providence College.
“Mr. Rob” as he is affectionately known, is an ordained minister serving at Second Calvary Baptist Church. He participates in the Hampton Roads Youth Leadership Conference, Volunteer Hampton Roads, and USNA Alumni Association. In addition, Robert serves as a high school indoor and outdoor track coach for Norview High School and is a member of the Virginia High School League Association.

Robert is married to the former Elsie Yates. Through their union, they have been blessed with three children, Robert, Jr (Angela), Kendra G. Spencer (Kendrick), Micayla, and six precious grandchildren.
