Youth Outreach Urban Resources and Services Ministry (YOURS) has been awarded a two-year grant of $50,000 from the Black Community Partnership Fund of the Hampton Roads Community Foundation. The Hampton Roads Community Foundation gave away nearly $1 million in grants to 30 local Black nonprofit organizations as a part of its commitment to racial equity. This commitment involves confronting unfair and unjust policies and practices that persistently limit opportunities for Black people in Hampton Roads and beyond.

These grants come from the Black Community Partnership Fund, which the Foundation launched in 2020 thanks to a $1 million gift from Facebook to support Black nonprofits. The Foundation awarded grants to nonprofits with a majority Black board of directors, executive leadership and/or staff, and that primarily serve Black people.

“YOURS mission is to give every teenager an opportunity to experience positive life outcomes through Christian based values and to nurture their faith within a multi-cultural peer group around their school and in their community and we have been doing that for sixteen years,” said Robert Goodrum, President and Founder. "This grant will support us as an organization in meeting the needs of our community and the youth we serve as we move forward."
